I was fortunate to have a good early classical training with Olivia
Hunt, and Judith Gillis in Dunstable.
I appeared in the local professional pantomimes, summer seasons, and
enjoyed competing in the Festivals until I won a scholarship to Arts
Educational Trust, Tring Park, at 13.
I gained my RAD & ISTD Ballet examinations with Ruth French, and
Associate Ballet, Modern & National qualifications with Drusilla
Duffill Theatre School. I.D.T.A Fellowship Ballet, Theatre Craft,
Tap and Licentiate Modern Jazz with Miss Yvonne Gout.
Teaching freelance and working in the Theatre, and starting with a
handful of children, I established my dancing school in Burwash, in
1979, which has extended to Robertsbridge, Sandhurst & Hawkhurst,
and incorporating Limelight Musical Theatre with my close friend and
colleague Rachel Elliott.
Former pupils have gone onto further training in professional
schools including The Royal Ballet School, Arts Educational School,
The school is actively involved with the examination genre of the
Graded and Major Vocational Examinations in Ballet, Modern Jazz and
Tap sessions are taken once or twice a year.
All our staff are fully qualified, CRB checked and registered to
teach I.D.T.A and I.S.T.D syllabi.
Professional Teacher Training in all subjects
Classes are suitable for all ages from 2 years with a fun, caring
approach, building confidence, musicality, grace and poise.
Pupils are encouraged to perform in local events, Youth Ballet,
Pantomime, and opera groups.
The school holds regular workshops with professional actors and
dancers, and a Theatre Production bi-annually.
The Choreographic Trophy is held annually, a wonderful morning of
watching the children perform their own pieces, very keenly
